BBQ Grass Fed Beef Short Ribs

BBQ Grass Fed Beef Short Ribs

I have  fond memories of my dad cooking the best sweet and sour porc ribs. They were so delicious and tender. But now that I understand why porc is a forbidden food, I thought I would try my hand at a healthier version of my dad’s recipe. Although grass fed beef has some nutritional benefits to it, if you are on a healing journey, you should not eat it more than once or twice per month.  Since this is a slow cooking recipe, you can start it in the early afternoon and forget about it shortly before dinner time. Bon Appétit!

Gluten Free Coconut Cake

Gluten Free Coconut Cake

My husband LOVES coconut cake! However, since he is very well aware of the amount of sugar and the wheat that is used in a regular Coconut Cake, he kindly declines.  (most of the time) I could not find a recipe on line that suited my needs and had a base of almond flour, so I got creative and simply made one of my own. It is very moist and very easy to make. I did not have any coconut milk on hand, otherwise I would have topped it with a coconut frosting.  Bon Appétit! Read more →

Sugar Free Hot Chocolate

If you ever have a craving for hot chocolate but don’t like all the sugar and chemicals in the prefab packages, this recipe is simple …..and very comforting, I might add.  It is made with raw cacao which is high in polyphenols, similar to those found in wine.  Cacao also had mood enhancers like phenylethylamine and serotonin.  This hot chocolate is high in essential minerals like magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc. Gluten Free Carrot Cake Muffins

Gluten Free Carrot Cake Muffins

If you love Carrot Cake you will love these muffins. This was a recipe that a friend of mine shared with me. She is exploring the Paleo Diet and this was one of the recipes. I changed it up a bit and added my own flair. I love this recipe because it has no added sweetener and they are gluten free. The sweetness comes from the bananas and dates. Bake them as large or mini muffins; either way, they are perfect for breakfast or a snack. This is a double recipe and made 24 large muffins and 16 small. Bon Appétit! Read more →

Cancer Cells LOVE Sugar 44 Times More Than Healthy Cells

Cancer Cells LOVE Sugar 44 Times More Than Healthy Cells

It drives me crazy when I hear oncologists and medical physicians saying that there is no connection with sugar consumption and cancer.

The very technology that they use to detect cancer in various parts on the body, is based on the premise that cancer LOVES sugar. A PET scan (Positron Emission Tomography) takes advantage of the cancer cells voracious appetite for sugar and helps to determine the extent of the cancer in the body.  Before a PET scan, the patient is injected with a radioactive sugar solution. Since cancer has 46 insulin receptor sites compared to 2 on a healthy cell, the cancer cells gobble up the radioactive sugar solution first. The end result is an image with little light bulbs glowing in areas of the body that are afflicted with cancer cells. Read more →

Can Seaweed Replace Chemo

Can Seaweed Replace Chemo

As I spend hours researching and compiling science – based evidence that Breast Cancer (or all cancers for that matter) can be cured, I stand in awe of how simple the solutions are. If only those billions of dollars of “cancer cure research” were spent on proving the efficacy of healthy and harmless therapies, millions of lives could be saved every year.

Compared to the Asian cultures,  Western society is not inclined to incorporating sea weed in their daily diet. When I was introduced to the Macrobiotic lifestyle in the late 70’s, I was amazed at how versatile and tasty sea weeds actually were. There are many types of sea weeds and many tasty ways to enjoy them.  (Check my Delectable Dish Raw Nori Rolls.) Read more →

Nutty Raw Granola

This “granola” can be served for breakfast or as a crunchy snack any time during the day. It has very little sweetener in it, except for the raisins and few dates. If you serve it for breakfast, pour cold almond milk and top it with fresh fruit. I typically keep some in my purse for those snack attacks when I am running errands or between sets when I play tennis.  Bon Appétit! Read more →
