Cancer Cells LOVE Sugar 44 Times More Than Healthy Cells

It drives me crazy when I hear oncologists and medical physicians saying that there is no connection with sugar consumption and cancer.

The very technology that they use to detect cancer in various parts on the body, is based on the premise that cancer LOVES sugar. A PET scan (Positron Emission Tomography) takes advantage of the cancer cells voracious appetite for sugar and helps to determine the extent of the cancer in the body.  Before a PET scan, the patient is injected with a radioactive sugar solution. Since cancer has 46 insulin receptor sites compared to 2 on a healthy cell, the cancer cells gobble up the radioactive sugar solution first. The end result is an image with little light bulbs glowing in areas of the body that are afflicted with cancer cells.

Researchers at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah have uncovered new information on the notion that sugar “feeds” tumors. The findings may also have implications for other diseases such as diabetes. The research is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

“It’s been known since 1923 that tumor cells use a lot more glucose than normal cells.

Our research helps show how this process takes place, and how it might be stopped to control tumor growth,” says Don Ayer, Ph.D., a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator and professor in the Department of Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah.

A study done at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center,  proved how simple it is to kill cancer cells: deprive them of glucose.   In the journal Molecular Systems Biology, Graeber and his colleagues demonstrate that glucose starvation — that is, depriving cancer cells of glucose — activates a metabolic and signaling amplification loop that leads to cancer cell death as a result of the toxic accumulation of reactive oxygen species, the cell-damaging molecules and ions targeted by antioxidants like vitamin C.

Sugar comes in all shapes and sizes.

1.)  White refined sugar

2.)  Brown sugar

sugar 5   3.)  Simple carbohydrates from refined grains that turn to sugar very quickly. This would   include all breads and  pastas made from white flour.

  4.)  White rice

  5.)  Honey

  6.)  Agave

  7.)  Maple Syrup

8.)  High fructose corn syrup is a major source of sugar in the North American diet, to the tune of 150 grams of sugar per day or almost half a pound of sugar per day! 

9.)  Sugar alcohols like Xylitol: although they contain much less sugar and require little or no insulin, they still contribute to raising the blood sugar levels.

12.)  And yes, even ALL complex, unrefined grains eventually create sugar

A comprehensive review of literature that links the effect of carbohydrates on cancer cells definitely proves that cutting off the supply of sugar will suppress cancer. .

Some of you are panicking by now…never eat anything deliciously sweet ever again???  The good news is that there are healthy alternatives that do not affect your health in a negative way.

Stevia is a non-caloric herbal sweetener that is perfectly safe and non toxic. It can be used in baking and to sweeten your teas and lemonades. Some people find that the powdered Stevia has a bitter after taste while the liquid version is a little more palatable.

Then the question of fruit and sugar often needs to be addressed. If you are on a Breast Cancer healing journey, limit your fruit intake to low glycemic fruits like Granny Smith green apples. These should also be consumed with moderation when you juice or blend.

Simply by being proactive and eliminating all sugars from your diet, you are strengthening your Immune System and starving the cancer cells and getting one step closer to being a victorious Breast Cancer Conqueror.

Unfortunately and sadly, you were lied to by the Registered Dingbats that have forgotten any and all biochemistry they were supposed to have studied that would tell them ALL sugar is metabolized exactly the same way whether it is a natural sugar or an added sugar. They got into this frenzy of incorrect information some years back when they started accepting money from food manufacturers and they came up with this lie to try and convince more people to eat fruit rather than sugar-filled granola bars for example. Glucose is glucose and fructose is still fructose whether they are in a fruit or table sugar or even agave nectar that is almost 100% fructose — talk about our basic sugar bomb! Disgusting the way the wrong information gets out compliments of the people who are supposed to be smarter and more accurately trained.

  3. Will green apples and berries cause cancer to grow? Many websites for alternative cancer treatment say those are cancer fighting.

    1. Green apples and Blueberries are full of antioxidants and can be enjoyed with balance! Make sure that you test your blood sugars to ensure that your body processes them well.
