Milk Does NOT Do The Body Good

Although there are massive campaigns to have you believe that “Milk Does the Body Good”, homogenized and pasteurized dairy products are very toxic. And in plain terms, cow’s milk is designed for baby cows, not humans. Thus, to support the growth of an animal that will eventually weigh about 1500 pounds, cow’s milk has over 3 times the amount of protein (which is very difficult to digest) and 3 times the amount of calcium.

In humans, “ there is a natural weaning process that occurs between 5 – 7 years of age, when the lactase enzyme that breaks down the lactose, or milk sugar, is no longer secreted. .” It is basically a natural weaning process that all mammals experience, since most mammals lose the ability to digest their mother’s milk once they can venture on their own and find their own source of food. In fact, according to a study done in the 70’s, “most of the world’s human adults are lactose intolerant.”

There is a school of thought that believes that raw dairy products are beneficial and does not have any adverse health effects. Milk is milk, no matter how you drink it. If the milk is raw and is fermented, like kefir and real yogurt,  it does contain many strains of healthy bacteria and makes it easier to digest.

If you are on a healing journey with Breast Cancer or want to prevent Breast Cancer, there are many powerful indications and reasons NOT to drink milk or use dairy products.

          1. Bovine Growth Hormones

The growth hormones that  are injected into the dairy cows to increase their milk production, increases the level of an Insulin Growth Factor (IGF-1). There is much evidence that this may increase the potential for Breast Cancer since IGF-1 is a critical factor in cell growth for cancer cells.   

         2. Toxic residues

Over 30 years ago, an  FDA survey of milk samples from grocery stores in 10 cities found that 73% of the samples contained pesticide residues. I shudder to think what that percentage is now!

             3. Dioxin

Dioxin is one of the most toxic chemicals on this planet and according to the EPA, there is no “safe” level. Dioxins are produced as a result of themilk does not do body good many uses of industrial chlorine, such as waste incineration, pesticides and pulp and paper bleaching. According to the WHO, “dioxins interfere with hormones and cause cancer.”

In 2000, Steve Milloy, author of www.junkscience.com  and Dr. Michael Gough tested a sample of Ben and Jerry’s famous Vanilla Ice cream. Astoundingly,  the level of dioxin in a single serving  of the ice cream, was 2000 times greater than the ‘virtually safe [daily] dose’ determined by the Environmental Protection Agency.   

          4. Pasteurization

Pasteurization involves heating the milk at high temperatures in order to kill harmful bacteria. However, it also destroys the enzymes and many of the vitamins, and it denatures the protein, which makes it even more difficult to digest.

         5.   Homogenization  

Homogenization involves forcing milk through a fine filter with high pressure and at high speed. This breaks down the fat particles in the milk and prevents them from floating to the top. When milk is homogenized, it creates the XO factor. XO stands for the enzyme Xanthine Oxidase, which is released when the fat globules are compressed through the homogenization process.  Over 40 years ago, scientific studies began to note the connection between XO and atherosclerosis, arthritis, diabetes, cancer and numerous other degenerative diseases.

          6.   Cancer

A study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology recognized that milk and dairy (among other food types) am increase the risk of prostate cancers and other types of cancer.

Fortunately, for you milk drinkers, there are wonderful alternatives, the healthiest one being unsweetened almond milk. It is lower in carbs and sugars compared to rice milk and soy milk.

Regardless if the milk is raw or organic, this food is one that I would use only very sparingly.  All  homogenized and pasteurized  dairy products should be avoided in order to “do your body good.”
