
If you ever have a craving for hot chocolate but don’t like all the sugar and chemicals in the prefab packages, this recipe is simple …..and very comforting, I might add. It is made with raw cacao which is high in polyphenols, similar to those found in wine. Cacao also had mood enhancers like phenylethylamine and serotonin. This hot chocolate is high in essential minerals like magnesium, iron, potassium and zinc. It even has vitamins A, some B’s , C and pantothenic acid. No need to feel guilty as you sip on this yummy, comforting drink! Bon Appétit!
Slowly warm 8 ounces of Almond Milk on a pan on the stove. Do not boil.
Whisk the following in the almond milk:
1 Tbs. of raw cacao
Stevia to taste. I used 8 drops of the liquid Stevia
Dash of cinnamon
I also added 1 drop of peppermint oil to give it that Mocha-Peppermint taste.
Pour into a mug and enjoy!
