Pumpkin is a great fall and winter vegetable to enjoy. Pumpkins are very high in fiber and iron. They are also a rich source of beta-carotenes, which helps to prevent certain types of cancers, such as stomach, lungs and colon. If you love the flavor of pumpkin and want to enjoy it as a nourishing protein drink, this smoothie is wonderful and so simple to make. This recipe makes 2 large glasses. Bon Appétit!
Add the following to your blender:
½ can organic pumpkin
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 frozen banana
1 Tbs. raisins or a pinch of Stevia, according to your sweetness level
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cloves
Pinch of ginger
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Blend until well mixed. If it is too thick for you, add a bit more almond milk.
Enjoy!
Thank you for this recipe, I’ve been looking for something a bit out of the box and this sounds delicious!
Hi Dr V,
First of all thank you so much for your audio book. It has taken me 2 days to listen to half of it on and off and it is giving me a sense of confidence in moving forward with my healing journey.
Secondly, I am curious about whey. I thought that you didn’t recommend dairy when on a healing journey and also I understood that whey caused inflammation.
Could you kindly clarify this for me.
Sincerely and with gratitude,
Robyn
Whey protein is a full spectrum power-food that has many benefits such as boosting the Immune System and increasing glutathione production. Glutathione is a primary and potent anti-oxidant that is produced inside your cells.
This sounds yummy! In regards to whey, are there any brands that you could recommend that are free of casein and heavy metals?
