I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just want something chewy and tasty for breakfast. Although juices and smoothies are typically a staple for breakfast, it is nice to have an occasional indulgence. This breakfast “cereal” is simple and quick to make. Top it off with a few organic berries and almond milk and you have a nutritious and powerful start up for you day. Hemp is loaded with protein while the chia seeds are high in Omega 3’s and fiber. Bon Appétit!
The night before, soak the following in clean water. The soaking starts the sprouting process
1 cup chia seeds
1 cup hemp seeds
1 cup flax seeds
In the morning, rinse and drain the seeds and place on cookie sheets to air dry or you can place in a dehydrator for a few hours.
Once the seeds are dry, grind them up in a seed or coffee grinder and mix them all together.
You can add a few goji berries or raisins to add a bit of sweetness to the mix.
Serve with cold almond milk and organic berries. Enjoy!
Delicious recipe…..thank you.
You are welcome!
It sound healthy and I like all 3 of those ingredients but when I soak flax and chia they turn into a gel and absorb the water so I don’t know how to rinse them . Does anyone else have a good technique for doing this ?
I always soak them to start the sprouting process. I then dehydrate them which gets rid of the stickiness. I hope that this helps!
