2022 is for Healthy Goals.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi. Resolve to make 2022 the year of YOUR HEALTHY change you want to see in your world. 

“Being the healthy change” could mean setting 2022 healthy goals as simple as eating more organic veggies but more in depth as committing to apply each of The 7 Essentials.  A resolution could also mean leading by example and loving yourself more by being intentional with your sleep and relationships. If you don’t prioritize quality, rejuvenating sleep to restore your physical and mental health, you can’t fully show up for others. Another 2022 healthy goal could be to stop buying plastic water bottles because they are harmful to the environment and your body. 

Use healthy goal-setting tools.

With everything we juggle these days, putting your health first, can be challenging – if you do not have a plan and a support group. A 2007 study, way back when the world seemed like a simpler place, found that only 9% of Americans felt like they successfully kept their goals [2] by the end of the year. However, with a plan, practice, and peer support – you definitely will be able to stick to your resolutions! Whatever you resolve to do in 2022, read on to learn how to create resolutions that you actually stay with all year long. I will share my best advice for sticking with your goals so that you can genuinely see the healthy change you have created for yourself. 

2022 Healthy Goals: Set Them.

When you ask someone what their New Year’s Resolutions are, they normally say something like, “save money” or “lose weight.” However, you must be very specific with your intentions so that you will stick with them. This means writing out what, how, and why it is meaningful. Let’s say you want to learn more about natural ways to kick the cancer and live a vibrantly healthy life. One of your resolutions could be:

Practice in a Healthy Way.

A big reason why it is hard to break or start a new habit is your brain and body get used to whatever you do in repetition. What are some things you do without even realizing it? Do you automatically focus on the negatives in your life before seeing the positives? Is saying “Yes” the first thing out of your mouth to something you don’t want to do? Does seeing a beautiful painting or sunset make you feel happier on the inside? All of these are character traits that have been programmed by you over daily repetition for decades.

Did you know that you actually have the power to break or change even the oldest of habits? It may lead to some internal resistance within your brain’s neural network because you are disrupting the “normal flow.” Thoughts such as “Oh, I’ll just start the EFT tomorrow” or “This habit isn’t that bad. I can live with it” could creep in. Even if it is uncomfortable to work through these thoughts or daily make the change you want, you must continue to practice. Don’t be too proud to ask for help from your support system if you are feeling stuck. 

Become your own placebo.

In Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book, You Are the Placebo [6], he says, “If you begin the inner journey and start to change your inner world of thoughts and feelings, it can [eventually] create an improved state of well-being.  “If you keep repeating the process in meditation, then in time, epigenetic changes should begin to alter your outer presentation—and you become your own placebo.”

The act of practicing your new habit is something that must be done daily. To give yourself an advanced tool to help you go deeper into accomplishing a resolution that involves breaking a habit, true using EFT. 

Empower Yourself with EFT.

You will accomplish big goals in your physical, emotional, and mental health this year IF you use the best tools to make it happen! The Emotional Freedom Technique [8] (EFT)

helps release old patterns subconsciously. It is simple and can calm the nervous system and even lessen the effects of trauma. What’s more, EFT can become one of the best tools you have for staying on track throughout the year.

You may have heard of Meridian Tapping or just “tapping.”  Both are just different names for EFT. This technique uses a combination of light acupressure tapping and vocalization to honestly address stressful situations, thoughts, bad habits, and feelings. Scientific research has proven that tapping on these acupuncture points calm down the stress response and allows your mind and body to heal. “Tapping out” feelings during times of even mild stress can turn negative thoughts into acceptance and positive perception, sometimes within minutes.
