Very early detection: Galleri Test & RGCC Tests

[1]

Many cancers, including breast cancer, do not alert you via any symptoms until later stages. Tragically, this has resulted in 71% of cancer deaths [2] caused by cancers not commonly screened. It is also one of the main reasons why Essential #7 is Adopt Very Early Detection. [3] Thus, I felt compelled to let you know about a few tests that I have used on a regular basis to monitor my health.

Mammograms have been the most commonly used breast cancer screening tool since the 1970s. However, it is 2022 (over 50 years later), and technology has drastically improved. While the mammogram has its place, you now have non-invasive options—and several of them! In the last few weeks, I wrote about thermography [4] and Prenuvo [5] and SonoCine [5]. All three options are very detailed tests that help detect and monitor suspicious tissue without the harmful side effects of mammograms. Please read about them so that you can make an educated decision on what screening tools you can add to your monitoring protocols.

Today, I will provide insight into the innovative Galleri test and RGCC cancer tests. Along with thermography [4] and Prenuvo [5] and SonoCine [5], I have recommend these tests to my clients and women in the Breast Cancer Conqueror community.  I have personally relied on the RGCC screening since 2015 by monitoring the Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC’s) and genetic markers. Some doctors are not confident about the RGCC technology, probably because they do not have a clear understanding of the science behind the screening process. I personally know medical doctors that have visited and toured the facility in Greece, and have walked away with a better appreciation of the marvelous work that this cancer research center is accomplishing.

Please always remember: Regardless of which breast screening tool you use, ALWAYS back it up with a second option. No stand-alone screening tool is 100% accurate.

Galleri Test

What is the Galleri® Test?

It is a multi-cancer early detection test. By multi-cancer, they really mean it. The Galleri test scans for 50 types of cancer [7], many of which are not commonly screened for today.  Just one quick and simple blood draw and you are good to go!

How does Galleri® test for cancer?

Every cell in your body releases DNA into your bloodstream when it dies. Cancer cells do the same thing.  However, DNA from healthy and cancer cells look different. This is why a blood sample can effectively screen for various types of cancers. The Galleri test looks for signals present in the blood that may be associated with various types of cancer.

The test must be ordered by a healthcare provider, and your results will be ready about two weeks after your blood draw. If cancer is detected, the next steps would be more screening and testing. . This will help your medical team create a personalized treatment plan for you.

The Galleri test [7] is intended to detect a cancer signal and predict cancer signal origin to inform diagnostic evaluation.

Who should take a Galleri® test?

This test is recommended for adults with an elevated risk of cancer. Risk factors include but are not limited to adults ages 50 and over. If you any one on your family has been diagnosed with cancer, if you live in a toxic environment and are not practicing healthy living, the Galleri test may be a good choice for you.

RGCC Tests

RGCC was launched in 2004 by genetics pioneer Dr. Ioannis Papasotiriou. He believes (and so do I!) that the key to effectively treating cancer lies in personalized medicine using the information in a patient’s genes. I would also add that personalized medicine should also investigate a patient’s lifestyle (diet, exercise, sleep, stress levels, etc.) and make intentional changes to improve their epigenetics [9]

RGCC Tests

Currently, RGCC offers 11 tests [10]. They have developed a range of cutting-edge tests designed to help discover, analyze and screen cancer cells at every step of the disease. They can determined the condition and status of the Immune System and how best to support it.

Their tests can also monitor a patient’s progress and if a specific type of chemotherapy or natural substance can kill their specific cancer cells. They can also determine whether late-stage therapies like vaccines or immune therapies will be effective.

The results of some of their tests, can help a physician identify and diagnose certain cancers and monitor the cancer’s progression.

[11]Test Accuracy

Please note, as I said above, these are all fantastic, cutting edge-technology tests. BUT no test is 100% accurate. This is why doing two or more tests can give you the most accurate results.

While researchers have made significant progress in detecting and isolating these cells, circulating tumor cell tests are not yet 100% accurate. The studies currently found for breast, prostate, pancreas, colon, and skin cancer that RGCC tests are 87% sensitive and 83% specific for circulating tumor cells (Papasotiriou I. et al, 2015). Meaning, that a test will correctly return a positive result 87% of the time and correctly return a negative result 83% of the time.

Where to get an RGCC Test

Good news for our breast cancer conqueror friends around the world! Unlike many of the US-only tests I have discussed, RGCC is a global organization. They operate in 23 countries, and work in collaboration with branch offices to have state-of-the-art laboratory facilities based around the world. Click here [12] to inquire about a test.
