Turkish Style Soup

Turkish Style Soup

In the mood for a flavorful soup that is full of nutrients? This is the soup! This Turkish style soup contains fresh herbs, spices, split peas, spinach, bone broth, onions, and garlic to make this soup deliver the ultimate health benefits to your body. The bone broth in this soup is a great source of collagen and rich micronutrients.  Although some people have an aversion to red meat, bone broth made from grass-fed cows is totally different compared to your average supermarket brand.  If you still want to avoid beef products, you can always substitute this recipe with a vegetable broth. The garlic and onions provide anti-viral, anti-bacterial properties. The fresh herbs can help with gentle digestion and nausea.

Ingredients:

4 Cups Bone Broth

1 cup frozen chopped spinach

1 onion, chopped

4 garlic cloves, chopped

1 cup split peas uncooked

1.5 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp fresh or dry mint leaves

Salt and pepper to taste

I topped my soup with unsweetened coconut yogurt and red pepper flakes

Directions:

Place all the ingredients in a medium-size pot. Get the heat to almost boiling temperature and turn it to low/simmer for about 35 minutes to absorb all the flavors and soften the split peas.
