Garlic is another main ingredient because it adds a warm and delectable taste—and is one of nature’s best immune system boosters. So dig in and strengthen your body from top to bottom.
Ingredients:
For the Garlic Meatballs:
- 1lb ground grass-fed beef
- 1 tbsp basil, chopped
- 1 tsp thyme, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1.5 tsp Himalayan sea salt
- Basil to garnish
For the Garlic BBQ Sauce:
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- Pinch of salt
- 1tbsp arrowroot powder + 2tbsp water
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- In a large bowl combine beef with herbs, garlic, onion, and salt
- With your hands mix and form meatballs about 1.5 inches wide
- Place meatballs onto parchment paper
- Bake for 11 minutes
- While meatballs are baking make your sauce by heating a skillet and sautéing garlic until fragrant
- Add coconut aminos and balsamic vinegar to the skillet and mix well, allow to come to a boil
- Make arrowroot slurry by mixing water and arrowroot powder and add to the skillet to thicken the sauce. Allow to simmer to continue thickening
- Once the meatballs are done add them to the simmering sauce, and mix to coat the meatballs
- Garnish with basil and enjoy!
