The Amazing Cancer-Healing Budwig Diet

The “Budwig Diet” has been an amazingly simple yet extremely successful cancer-healing protocol for over half a century.

The basic ingredients are simple yet quite revolutionary: flax seed oil and cottage cheese.

How the formula came to be is just as interesting as why it works so well. In fact, it has been said that, for many cancers, the success rate of the Budwig Diet has been as high as 90%.

The Origins of the Diet

Dr. Johanna Budwig was a 7-time Nobel prize-nominated German biochemist, physicist, pharmacologist, blood specialist and cancer researcher. In fact, at one time she was known as the top cancer researcher in Europe. In the 1950’s she was the Central German Government’s Senior Expert on oils, fats and pharmaceutical drugs and was also considered the world expert on these substances.

Her research during that time focused on the severe health consequences of consuming commercially-processed fats (what we now call hydrogenated and trans fats). She discovered that chemically-processed fats and oils destroy cell membranes. Specifically, they destroy the field of electrons in the membranes of healthy cells.

There are 60-75 trillion cells in our bodies and they all must maintain the pull of positive and negative energy within them in order to function properly. Exposure to chemically-processed fats on a regular basis lowers the chemical charge or “voltage” of these cells, similar to a car battery that is slowly drained of its juice.

We all know what happens to a car when the battery is dead: nothing. It has no spark to move at all. Like that car, without electricity to fuel our cells, we inevitably then create dis-ease in our body.

How Budwig Works

Dr. Budwig began to develop her own “oil protein” that she hoped would combat the harmful effects of processed foods that are devoid of healthy fats and enzymes. She knew that the low-oxygen, high-sugar internal environment caused by consumption of these foods was ideal for cancer cells to thrive and grow. Most importantly, she knew that in order for healthy cells to obtain oxygen that they could use for fuel, they needed the help of specific enzymes that could only be found in natural fats.

Dr. Budwig spent years researching ways to catalyze the healing of cells damaged by processed foods, giving them back their “juice.”

Finally, she discovered the key. You guessed it: this is where the flax seed oil and cottage cheese comes in.

By combining sulfur-rich proteins like cottage cheese with a highly-unsaturated fat like flax seed oil, something remarkable happens. Oxygen is literally forced into the cells when healthy unsaturated fatty acids from the flax bond with proteins from the cottage cheese. This makes the flaxseed water-soluble, allowing it to be absorbed into the cell membrane. The result is that cells return to their natural, aerobic state.

This return can happen quite rapidly, because of the intense flood of essential nutrients and enzymes into the body after consumption. The process is precise and immediate and can cause the reversal of many chronic dis-eases.

Webster Kehr, a researcher with the Independent Cancer Research Foundation, was skeptical of the protocol first:

“One afternoon I decided to take the time to start researching Dr. Budwig. I wanted to know who she was and learn more about her protocol. I had no idea that two months later…I would still be looking at Dr. Budwig’s work. I found testimonials of people from around the world who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer (all types of cancer), sent home to die and were now actually cured and living healthy, normal lives…Dr. Budwig’s protocol proved successful where orthodox traditional medicine was failing.”

According to Kehr, there are accounts of the Budwig Protocol not only reversing cancer but also healing arthritis, heart irregularities, neurological problems, skin problems such as Psoriasis and Eczema, autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances, diabetes, lung disease, stomach ulcers and a myriad of other chronic diseases.

Until her death in 2003 at the age of 95, Dr. Joanne Budwig worked tirelessly at educating the public about the simple and effective benefits of natural, healing foods. If you are on a healthy breast journey, you may consider learning about more about Budwig, a powerfully simple (and cost effective!) way to turn your health completely around. Your body– and especially your cells– will thank you!

  • Hi Dr V,
I have read the book on Dr Budwig’s diet and it is indeed a remarkable little book.
I would just like to ask you or anybody reading this if any other oil other than flaxseed can be used.
The reason I ask is that we have to be so careful with flax oil as it goes rancid so quickly and could end up doing more harm than good.
Also, has anybody noticed any othe positive effects of this protocol such as reduced blood pressure and better circulation etc?

    Many thanks and kind regards,
    kev

    • You should use Flax Seed only for this protocol, you can keep the flax seed in the refrigerator to help it last longer. Barlean’s is a great source of Flax Seed.

  • Have been eating the basic Budwig diet for two months. The first time I ate the mixture I felt better immediately, as if my body were craving it.
Since oxygen is flowing better amongst the cells I wonder if it will help with altitude adjustment/sickness… thoughts?

  • Does anyone have any information on the Budwig Protocol having a positive effect on Kidney Disease.

There have been reports showing that it cured diabetes, so I cannot wonder why it would not also rejuvenate the filtering Nephron cells inside the kidneys as well.

Thank you in advance for your opinions or reccomodations on this question.

    Kind Regards;

    Richard James Wilson

  • Hi,
I cannot get flaxseed oil where I live, (only in supplement form),:which other oil can I use?

    Thank You!!
