Best Practices to Hydrate for Your Health

Water plays a vital role in healing and maintaining vibrant health. When we are born, water makes up a full 80% of our physical composition, and even into old age, we are still 60-65% water. Wouldn’t it make sense that, in order to stay healthy we must stay hydrated? Unfortunately, even as we are surrounded by so much technology, finding clean, fresh sources of water is often difficult in today’s world. Here’s a little snapshot of the state of our water, how much our bodies really need it, and a breakdown of just a few of the best filter systems I have found along the way. You can drink your fill, hydrate your body and be toxin-free too!

The Importance of Water

We all know that water is super important, but sometimes it helps to remember exactly why. Here is a breakdown of all the mechanisms in our bodies that rely on water:

-Digestion.  Hydration is key for proper digestion of food and for maintaining the intricate balance of pH levels that it depends on. It is also vital for the healthy balance of gut flora. Dehydration is a key component of many gut-related issues, such as constipation, heartburn, IBS, diverticulitis, and ulcers.

-Circulation. Did you know that our blood is made up of about 90% water? The blood is super important because it carries oxygen, nutrients, and immune system cells which they need to go throughout the body. Several studies have also found that chronic dehydration can lead to the thickening of the blood, which can also increase blood pressure.

-Metabolism. Water is essential for metabolism because it helps the body burn energy in the most efficient way possible. When you are dehydrated that means your cells are dehydrated too. Cell hydration is absolutely needed for cells to maintain glucose transport as well as insulin sensitivity. A  University of Arizona study found that increased insulin sensitivity also helps the body to lose weight. Do you want to shed the pounds? Drink more fresh, filtered water! One review also found that being dehydrated may make it difficult to exercise for more than 30 minutes.

-The Immune System. What water does to help the blood, the detoxification system, nutrient absorption, and more also helps to boost immunity. When we are dehydrated, it opens us up to some of the most common gut-related conditions as well, such as IBS as well as gut inflammation in general. Inflammation in the digestive tract is directly connected to lower immunity in general.

-Detoxification.  Water is absolutely vital for flushing waste out of the body. It is literally what keeps things moving through the lymph system, the liver, the kidneys, and even the pancreas. It is needed for sweating through the skin as well.

Dehydration is a key component in the formation of kidney stones. Water intake is so vital for kidney health that the American College of Physicians issues new guidelines in 2014 which upped their water intake recommendations significantly for those with a history of kidney stones.

-Oral health. Water is a key component for the creation of saliva and other mucus substances that help keep the sinuses, the eyes, and the other parts of our body moist. Water is a key ingredient in saliva, which helps to sanitize the oral cavity amongst other things.

Muscles. Joints, cartilage, and muscles all need water to stay hydrated. Dehydration can lead to joint pain and stiffness since there is less lubrication for shock-absorbing and movement.

-Body Temperature. Enough water helps the body maintain homeostasis when it comes to body temperature. A sure sign of severe hydration is fever.

-Skin. If you want to prevent wrinkles and have soft, smooth skin as you age, be sure to drink enough water every day! Water is essential for collagen production, vitamin C synthesis, and other mechanisms that create, recycle and strengthen skin. Chronic dehydration has also been connected with skin disorders like cancer (as well as all forms of cancer).

-Cognitive function. Getting enough water helps the brain function since it is a key substance for the movement and communication between neurotransmitters and hormones. It also helps to maintain brain structure since part of its job is to cushion the spinal cord and the brain. A 2011 study conducted at King’s College in London found that prolonged dehydration led to shrinkage of brain tissue.

I think that just about covers every function in the body!

Just as dehydration can increase dis-ease risk, increasing your consumption of clean water will begin the healing process.

Parasites, Bacteria, and Fungus: First-Level Contaminants in Water

For centuries, the main source of water-borne illness worldwide has been living pathogenic microorganisms in the form of bacteria, viruses, protozoa, fungi, and parasites. In our modern age, it is sometimes hard to imagine that these are still a concern.

Surprisingly, parasites are not confined to countries that have economic hardships.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), roughly 71% of the world’s population uses at least some form of safe drinking water service. That is really good news!

On the other hand, the vast majority of health problems worldwide still have to do with microbial contaminants such as viruses, protozoa, bacteria, and other microbial contaminants.

Even in more modern areas, microorganisms can get into the water supply and cause well-known diseases such as cholera and dysentery. This is especially common in areas of the country that are prone to flooding.

Believe it or not, pathogenic parasites such as E. Coli do wind up in the U.S. drinking supply and can cause serious digestive issues for large populations.

In addition to investing in a quality water filtration system, my recommendation is to add the occasional parasite cleanse to your healing toolbox. This is especially important if you want to heal and prevent cancer. The overgrowth of parasites, fungi, and other pathogenic microorganisms in the body has been directly connected to Breast Cancer.

This may come as a surprise to you, but did you know that the best time to do a parasite cleanse is during the full moon?

This month (March 2021) the full moon falls on March 28th. Interestingly, the March full moon is called the “Worm Moon!” since this is when earthworms become active in the Northern Hemisphere. When the moon is full, we produce less melatonin and more serotonin. This increases the activity of the parasites so it is the perfect time to expel those unwanted guests.

Visit the Breast Cancer Conqueror Facebook Page for information on the group parasite cleanse I will be leading during the Worm Full Moon. And be sure to check out the 7 Essential’s System® Parasite Cleanse Kit HERE.

Man-Made Contaminants in Water

Tap water is basically a chemical cocktail filled with the most hazardous man-made chemicals out there. This includes disinfectants and halides, such as chlorine, bromide, Trihalomethanes, fluoride, and perchlorate. All of these chemicals can affect the hormones and the nervous system.

Tap water may contain heavy metals such as mercury and other carcinogens such as asbestos and cyanide. And don’t forget about the “run-off” products that can wind up in municipal water supplies. These may include herbicides from crops as well as fumigants and flame retardants from manufacturing plants.

You want to avoid consuming tap water especially if you want to heal or prevent Breast Cancer. According to Seth Siegel, Senior Water Policy Fellow at the University of Wisconsin and author of the book Troubled Water, more than 10 million birth control doses (found in the form of synthetic estrogen and other hormonal substances) are dumped into U.S. wastewater supplies every day. These pharmaceuticals and others eventually make their way to our showers, washing machines, and faucets.

It goes without saying that filtering your water in some way is absolutely essential in today’s world. Of course, by now you know that bottled water is simply out of the question if you want to stay away from estrogenic chemicals like BPA found in plastics.

What Kind of Water Filtration System Do I Need?

What kind of water is safe to drink, then? You may be thinking.

Don’t despair! Clean, fresh, delicious drinking water is possible!

Admittedly, a person could spend a small fortune on buying “just the right” water filtration system for their home or personal use. I encourage you to consider water filtration as a serious investment in your health.

Remember that food is medicine. Clean water is one most important foods because it is critical for every mechanism in your body!

Synergy Sciences Echo Hydrogen Water: Taking Water to the Next Level

Echo H2 Water
Hydrogen water has many very powerful healing properties.

What is hydrogen water and why would someone want to drink it?

First of all, hydrogen water is not highly alkaline water. I actually do not recommend drinking high alkaline water on a regular basis, since it can cause an imbalance of stomach acidity over time as well as other digestive problems.

Hydrogen water is something completely different. It is water infused with hydrogen gas.

The Echo Hydrogen Water is the creation of natural health visionary Paul Barattiero. It is designed to re-supply the body with the extra hydrogen it needs. The digestive system is actually designed to produce hydrogen. Because of poor lifestyle and gut imbalance, many people are unable to produce their own hydrogen or their digestive systems produce very small amounts.

Thousands of people have benefited from the healing power of drinking hydrogen water regularly.  “Echo Water machine series has over 20 patents and is recommended by over 3,000 doctors.”

Indeed, close to a thousand studies have shown the healing power of hydrogen for the body. It can reduce inflammation, protect against oxidative stress, protect against neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s, help with heart disease, improve energy and endurance, balance mood, repair the intestinal lining, and so much more!
