Did you know that roughly 90% of all cancer deaths are not the result of the primary tumor, but of the metastasis of the original cancer cells into surrounding organs and tissues? Approximately 30 % of all Breast Cancers treated conventionally will eventually return in other parts of the body through the process of metastasis.
How Cancer Spreads
Healthy cells continually break down their extracellular barriers as they multiply and grow; this process is natural and essential to life. To this end, healthy cells use collagen, elastin and other enzymes, called metalloproteinases (or MMPs), to break down connective tissue. For healthy cells, this is a delicate process that is constantly being regulated by MMP “activators” as well as “inhibitors” and, through their monitoring, the integrity of the connective tissue remains sound. If connective tissue does not stay intact, viruses and other microbes can pass from one part of the body to another, with disastrous results.
Some cancer cells obtain the ability to penetrate the walls of either the lymphatics or the blood vessels, at which point they are able to travel through the blood stream and “land” on other sites in the body. Once there, they settle down and begin to create new tumors that are identical to the original one. This is called metastasis.
How are cancer cells able to break down the walls of connective tissues to such an extent that they can “escape” to wreak havoc elsewhere? Like healthy cells, cancer cells contain MMP enzymes too, but they produce them in excess with no regulation and with the sole aim of “eating” their way through connective tissue.
Dr. Rath’s Discovery
In the late 1980’s, Dr. Matthias Rath, a German physician and scientist, began to see the connection between Vitamin C deficiency and many modern diseases. In 1990, Rath accepted an invitation to become the first Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Linus Pauling Institute in Northern California. Dr. Rath worked with Pauling for years on various nutritional subjects, including how to heal cancer naturally. Today Dr. Rath runs the Dr. Rath Healing Foundation, where he and his team conduct cutting edge research on how to fight disease naturally at the cellular level. Much of the recent work Dr. Rath and his fellow scientists have done is based on a single question:
How can we naturally inhibit the invasion of cancer cells through collagen and connective tissue in a way that would enhance the body’s own capacity for managing disease?
After many years of research, Dr. Rath and his team found the answer! They discovered that a simple combination of natural substances can effectively “turn off” two of the MMP digestive enzymes (MMP-2 and MMP-9) in cancer cells. Here are the natural substances they discovered do this most effectively:
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is a virtual powerhouse for immune-boosting and is essential for the healthy functioning of every system in your body. In its lipid soluble form (ascorbyl palmitate), Vitamin C can also eliminate abnormal cells while protecting healthy ones. Even though it is a vital substance, our bodies do not make it. We must get it Vitamin C from healthy sources in food as well as in quality supplement form.
EGCG: EGCG stands for “epigallocetechin gallate.” It is an important polyphenolic compound found in green tea (and especially in matcha green tea). EGCG has bee
n shown in numerous studies to have anti-mutagenic and anti-proliferative properties. EGCG is also a powerful antioxidant which can prevent cell damage and stimulate detoxification in the body.
L-Lysine and L-Proline: L-Lysine and L-Proline are two naturally-occurring amino acids that are the building blocks of collagen and elastin. In addition, L-Lysine
also actively prevents the digestion of collagen by blocking sites on collagen fibers where digesting enzymes attach. Like Vitamin C, L-Lysine is not produced by the body yet the daily health of our connective tissue depends on it!
Should You Try It?
I never recommend a product without first trying it myself and also digging deep into the science behind why itworks. Based on Dr. Rath’s impeccable track-record and credentials as well as the effectiveness and quality of the ingredients he uses, I would put the “Dr. V Seal of Approval” on this product.
In particular, I recommend Dr. Rath’s Healthy Cell Synergy formula, which combines the four main ingredients mentioned above along with other proven natural cancer-fighting substances such as arginine, quercetin, select trace minerals and naturally-occurring collagen peptides.
The Healthy Cell Synergy formula is especially designed to prevent cancer metastasis by supporting the function of healthy connective tissue and ensuring healthy cell growth. Whether you are preventing cancer or healing from it now, Dr. Rath’s Healthy Cell Synergy formula may be a great addition to your healthy breast toolbox!
