DCA Has Cancer-Killing Properties

DCA

If you are on a healing journey with Breast Cancer, you may have heard of a low-cost, effective cancer protocol called DCA, or Dichloroacetate. In studies since 2007, DCA has shown promise in its ability to isolate cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

How DCA Works

mitochondria

To understand how DCA works, it is first important to understand how cancer cells “feed” and how this is different compared to healthy cells. Healthy cells uses oxygen and very little glycolysis, while cancer cells use glycolysis as a major means of cellular energy. Cancer cells have a glycolysis rate that is up to 200 times higher than healthy tissues.

Glycolysis, or breakdown of sugar,  does not require oxygen. Glycolysis is cancer’s favorite way of obtaining energy. This process is one of the reasons why cancer cells have so many insulin receptor sites for sugar.

 Because they rely mostly on the anaerobic process (no oxygen) of glycolysis for food, cancer cells tend to have a very active PDK, an enzyme that that helps to convert sugar into energy.

It is in this relationship between PDK and  DCA comes into play. DCA suppresses PDK. With the PDK suppressed, mitochondria are “turned back on” and cellular respiration begins and oxygenation increases. Since cancer cells do not like oxygenation. a process of starvation thus begins for cancer cells.

The suppression of PDK instigates apoptosis, or programmed cancer cell death.  When mitochondria in cancer cells sense that something has dramatically changed in the way they are converting energy, they perceive it as something going wrong and push their own “self-destruct buttons.” The cancer cell is destroyed.

Studies That Confirm the Effectiveness of DCA

Since 2007, there have been numerous studies that have verified the effectiveness of DCA for destroying cancer cells:

  • In 2007, Dr. Evangelo Michelakis of the University of Alberta announced the results of a study where rats who had lung, breast and brain cancer were fed DCA. Cancer cells declined by 70% over the course of three weeks while healthy cells were left untouched.
  • Another 2007 study sponsored in part by Harvard Medical School showed the same result for endometrial cancer cells;
  • A 2008 study using DCA in conjunction with radiation on certain kinds of prostate cancer cells determined that “DCA alone produced significant cytotoxic effects” and also made radiation therapy more effective;
  • A 2009 study found that DCA reduced tumor growth in several types of metastatic Breast Cancer cells in both in vitro and animal models
  • A March 2015 study published in the International Journal of Oncology documented the same basic results in human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells.

Research on DCA is unique in that it has never been funded by Big Pharma; money for studies come either from government agencies or private donations. DCA can be obtained relatively inexpensively at this time but because there has only been a few small clinical trials, the potential side effects of DCA in humans remain elusive.

Although DCA is not a plant-based extract, it is part of the Greece Test Natural Extracts testing, and often shows promise in killing off cancer cells. In personally speaking with the DCA company, they stated that there have been very few negative issue with the suggested protocol, if the proper dosage is used. They also recommend B1- Thiamine, to help reduce any potential effects with neuropathy.

Conclusion

Choosing the proper cancer protocol for yourself is an individual decision. Don’t guess when it comes to your health. This is why I recommend the use of the Greece Test, in order to really target which extracts work best against your particular type of cancer. If you are on  a healing journey, follow The 7 Essentials System, making sure you’re covering ALL the potential aspects that have allowed cancer to show up in your body. And always consult with a licensed health-care provider when it comes to such serious matters concerning your health.
