Today, 1 out of 3 women could develop some form of cancer—if they do not take proactive and preventative measures. We live in a toxic and stressed-out world overflowing with processed food, chemicals, and electropollution that can cause DNA damage. However, you have control over your body, and you can choose to prevent and heal cancer by repairing your DNA. You just need to do the work to repair, rejuvenate, and prevent.
Your beautiful and powerful body has approximately 37 trillion cells that house your DNA. Brain cells think and create for you, immune cells heal you, and muscle cells keep your heart beating. You are your own universe of living cells. How you care for them determines how they will function for you.
From unnecessary pharmaceuticals to electropollution, I could write a very large book on how people damage their DNA. However, since you have a vibrant life to go and live, I will share a few causes and many SOLUTIONS you can try today.
Cancer is a Cellular Problem
Before I get into the causes and solutions, I first want to spell out why preventing and repairing your DNA is such an important part of your breast cancer healing journey.
The “metabolic disease” theory states that cancer is a problem that exists at the cellular level. (Please review this study to learn more.) Damaged cells can lead to various cancers, illnesses, and dis-eases. Only about 5-10% of cancer cases are due to genes.
The new field of epigenetics (please read this blog to learn more) discovered how outside factors influence cellular expressions that can lead to all kinds of illnesses. On the flip side, how you use these factors can determine your healing. Your DNA is not your destiny, no matter your genetic disposition. Information about your genetic blueprint is incredibly helpful, but it isn’t the end-all. The lifestyle choices you make for your DNA will support healthy genetic expression and “program” your body for breast cancer prevention, healing, and vibrant health.
Causes of DNA Damage

- Smartphones, Bluetooth Devices, and EMFs. For example, smartphones release constant doses of non-ionizing radiation that increase free radical production and cause DNA damage. If you store your cell phone in your bra or keep it close to your body all day long, you are dousing your sensitive breast tissue with radiation. Learn more via this study.
- BPA. Studies using cutlers of human breast cancer cells show that BPA acts through the same pathways as estrogen. It induces cell proliferation as well as DNA damage to human cells.
- Alcohol. The ethanol in alcoholic drinks is metabolized (broken down) to acetaldehyde which can damage your DNA.
- Styrofoam cups and plates. Styrene, the chemical used to make Styrofoam, has been shown to deplete glutathione, a primary antioxidant that protects against free radical damage. It also causes DNA damage and has shown evidence of estrogen properties. Styrofoam is especially dangerous when it holds hot food or liquids.
- Mammograms. The low-dose radiation from mammograms can INCREASE breast cancer among high-risk women by damaging the DNA in an already compromised and weak body. And it continues with things you can’t see…
- Oxidative Stress. The body cannot readily detoxify or repair damage from toxins. When your body breaks down food or is exposed to environmental toxins, it produces free radicals that can cause DNA damage. If your liver and detoxification pathways are not functioning at optimal levels, chronic exposure to free radicals can lead to DNA damage and, ultimately, cancer. Learn more via this study.
- Parasites. They can lead to cysticercosis, which is linked to DNA damage and tumor growth. Please learn more via this study and my blog post on parasite cleanses. I also suggest looking into regularly doing coffee enemas.
- Chronic Stress. Toxic relationships, workplaces, and harmful lifestyle choices all cause DNA damage that leads to cancer. Pioneer psycho-oncologist Dr. R. G. Hamer is famous for this quote: “I searched for cancer in the cell, and I have found it in the brain.”
How to Repair DNA Damage
